Scam Alert: Fake Job Listing Redirecting Applicants to Phishing Site

Too Good to Be True? It Probably Is.

A suspicious job posting recently caught our attention, and it serves as a textbook example of how scammers are evolving to target job seekers in new ways.

🕵️‍♂️ The Listing: “Remote Data Entry Assistant – $45/hour”

Platform: JobQuickBoard.com
Posted By: “Global Staffing Solutions LLC”
Position: Remote Data Entry Assistant
Pay Rate: $45/hour
Application Link: Redirects to apply-global-careers.netlify.app

At first glance, the job seems enticing. A reputable-sounding staffing company, a remote role with high pay, and minimal experience required. But when we followed the “Apply Here” link, things took a turn.

đźš© Red Flags in the Listing

  1. Redirects to a Third-Party Site:
The listing redirects users to a site hosted on Netlify, a free hosting service often abused by scammers. Reputable companies typically use official domains (e.g., companyname.com/careers).
  2. No Company Website or Contact Info:
“Global Staffing Solutions LLC” has no verifiable web presence. A Google search brings up only the job listing itself — no website, LinkedIn, or business registration.
  3. Sketchy Application Form:
The application form asked for highly sensitive information:
    • Full name and address
    • Social Security number
    • Photo of ID
    • Bank routing and account number
  4. Sense of Urgency:
Applicants are told to “submit within 24 hours to secure your position” — a classic pressure tactic designed to short-circuit critical thinking.

🧠 How to Spot This Type of Scam

  • Check the URL. Always hover over links before clicking. If it redirects to a site that isn’t affiliated with the company, proceed with caution.
  • Verify the company. Search for the employer on LinkedIn, Google, and company registries.
  • Beware of personal data requests. Legitimate employers never ask for sensitive info like your bank account or SSN during the application phase.
  • Look for professionalism. Spelling errors, vague job descriptions, and unusual salary promises are often giveaways.

âś… What to Do If You See a Listing Like This

  1. Report it to the platform hosting the job (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.).
  2. Avoid clicking unfamiliar links or submitting personal information.
  3. Use scam reporting sites like:

As job scams get more sophisticated, vigilance is more important than ever. If an offer sounds too good to be true, verify everything — before handing over your details.
